I was told by several people that my year as president would be a fast one.  I already am realizing how true that is.  There is so much going on at TABA right now that keeps me and everybody else involved very busy and makes time fly.  Many of the projects that I mentioned last month have moved miles forward toward being the successes that I predicted.

The busiest group has been the Home & Garden Show committee.  This show is coming up on the 24th and 25th.  There are only a few booths left so hurry and get yours reserved or it will be too late.  Tony Gallagher, Cheryl, and the committee are going to put on quite a show.

If you miss the Preview Party on the 23rd you will have missed a great time and a super networking opportunity.  The subcommittee for the preview party is made up mostly of members of the committee that put on so many great meetings last year and I am excited about their plans.

Pat Patterson’s Government Affairs Committee has been very active and has kept Troy busy working on more things than I have room to write here.  So much of this work goes on behind the scenes but suffice it to say that if this committee’s work ever stopped it would quickly become very evident.

Speaking of Government Affairs, Troy is working hard to get a good delegation to represent us at the biannual Rally Day at the Capitol on the 28th.  Associations from all across Texas will be there to show Austin that we are a “force to be reckoned with” and to have an opportunity to meet with our respective representatives and let them know about our issues and concerns.  Let Troy know if you are interested in joining us.  The more we have in attendance, the more apparent it will be to our government and state association that TABA is a force all of its own.

Thanks again to all of our members for your involvement and for being out there doing quality work in our community.  Keep it up and see you at the preview party.
